Rooha Rowhani, Psy.D., M.A

Post-Doctoral Resident 

Rooha Rowhani earned her Psy.D. and M.A. from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, her Bachelor of Science Honours degree from the University of Cape Town, and her B.A. in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. She completed her predoctoral internship at Nova Southeastern University’s Psychology Center, specifically in the Trauma Resolution and Integration Program. During that time, she also supervised employees at the Help Desk at Sidran Institute for Traumatic Stress.

Rooha enjoys working with a wide range of presenting concerns and her specialized training in trauma has deepened her passion and competence to work with trauma survivors. She has experience working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Rooha’s approach in therapy is collaborative and tailored to best meet the unique needs of each client. She deeply values the therapeutic relationship and holds therapy as a sacred space. She works from a relational lens and recognizes her clients as the experts of their lives, seeing her role as a supportive guide to help them tap into their full potential.

Rooha’s clinical experiences includes providing individual therapy and administering psychological assessments in private outpatient clinics, community mental health centers, college counseling centers, and inpatient psychiatric hospitals. She has also provided family therapy, facilitated process groups, and ran a substance use intensive outpatient program. Rooha has worked and continues to work with a breadth of presenting concerns, including trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, grief and loss, interpersonal difficulties, adjustment issues, and behavioral concerns.
