Drema Hatuel, Psy.D.
Post-Doctoral Resident
Drema Hatuel is a passionate scholar-practitioner in the field of clinical psychology. Throughout her years working in clinical practices, residential facilities, and equine-assisted therapy environments, she has delivered a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), experiential therapy, family systems and other evidenced based treatments to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Among the populations she has worked with, she has worked with individuals with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and adjustment challenges. She has worked with individuals with a history of trauma, symptoms of anxiety, depression, family and relational problems.
Drema completed her dissertation on 16PF Couples Counseling Report: Predictors of Marital Satisfaction, Personality Similarity, and Relationship Adjustment of Males in Marital Therapy. She enjoys working with couples and their families. Drema also has years of experience working with children and adolescents with a history of trauma and adjustments problems.
Drema received her Psy.D. from Florida Institute of Technology, a B.A. in psychology from Lynn University, and an M.A. in counseling psychology from Immaculata University. She received her National Board for Certified Counselors in 2019 (NCC). Her previous academic positions while working to obtain her doctorate degree at Florida Institute of Technology include; Research Assistant for the Veterans team with Dr. Richard Elmore, Practicum Committee on Senate, Membership Chair on Active Minds, Teacher’s Assistant for Clinical Skills, Graduate student professor for Intro to psychology, and therapy coordinator for Eye of a Horse Equine-Assisted Therapy with Dr. Sandra Wise.
Drema has experience administering psychological and intelligence testing to individuals. Drema has also facilitated therapy groups with a focus on substance abuse prevention, anger management, and adjustment problems for adolescents in outpatient and partial hospitalization placement. Drema Carpenter has a wide range of experience and clinical training in outpatient and inpatient settings, using a cognitive behavioral based therapeutic model and a holistic approach. Her experience and psychotherapeutic skills create a unique opportunity for exploration, insight, and dynamic growth for therapy clients consisting of all ages.
