Dr. Raymonde Dormezil-Neal
Dr. Raymonde Dormezil Neal received her M.S. in Mental Health Counseling and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. During her clinical training, Dr. Dormezil Neal completed an APA-accredited internship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Program (SIPP) providing therapeutic and assessment services to severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents, in addition to crisis stabilization in a short-term inpatient setting. Following internship, she completed a post-doctoral residency at the Mailman Segal Institute of NSU for Early Childhood Studies’ Autism Consortium conducting comprehensive psycho-developmental and psycho-educational evaluations for children with developmental delays, as well as academic, emotional and behavioral difficulties.
In addition, Dr. Dormezil Neal has received training in and implementing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)-based intervention strategies for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. She has conducted Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA), discrete trials, and other data collection in order to reduce challenging behaviors and increase skill acquisitions in children with developmental disabilities. Dr. Dormezil Neal also has experience providing consultation and trainings to teachers working with students with disabilities. Additionally, she has utilized her expertise to be an advocate/consultant for parents during school meetings (i.e., IEP meetings) for their child(ren), in order to help parents better understand the educational system and obtain the most appropriate services for their child(ren).
For the past 10 years, Dr. Dormezil Neal has had the opportunity to provide psychological and psycho-educational assessments and interventions to children, adolescents, and families in community mental health agencies, schools, residential and hospital settings. She has experience providing individual, family, and group therapy. In addition, Dr. Dormezil Neal is fluent in providing services in English, French, and Haitian-Creole. Currently, Dr. Dormezil Neal is an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at the Center for Psychological Studies at Nova Southeastern University.
