Liz Hankin is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Therapist. Ms. Hankin is a doctoral candidate from Alliant International University, formerly the California School of Professional Psychology, in Irvine, California. She completed her Master’s in Couples and Family Therapy at Drexel University in Philadelphia.
Ms. Hankin has provided individual, group and family therapy services for families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder and learning disabilities as well as oncology and reunification services. She specializes in solution-focused therapy, and has experience in anxiety and grief management services along with general therapy. Ms. Hankin also has specialized training in trauma and is EMDR trained.
Ms. Hankin assisted the Jewish Family and Children’s Services of Long Beach open and execute their in-school counseling program, alongside the Hebrew Academy of Huntington Beach. Ms. Hankin has spent time in India and Mexico, working with communities to process trauma and grief. Her experience in an array of socio-economic environments gives Ms. Hankin a unique perspective to share with her clients.
Ms. Hankin’s research has focused on helping the Autism community find its voice through technology. Ms. Hankin gathered the inaugural panel of experts on Autism Spectrum Disorder to raise awareness and garner participants for a parents’ support group, which she also ran. Additionally, she has focused her efforts on BDSM-positive therapy, including the use of art as therapy.
Ms. Hankin’s clinical and research interests include oncology Therapy, sex therapy, art therapy, play therapy, Autism Spectrum disorders and their effects on the family and individual, learning disabilities, substance abuse, stress management, anxiety reduction, strengthening interpersonal communication and geriatric therapy.
