Gregory Pickus, Psy.D

Post Doctoral Resident

Dr. Gregory Pickus is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Arizona. He
obtained an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited Doctor of
Psychology in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University. Currently, he is
a clinical psychology postdoctoral resident at the Whole Health Psychological
Center. Dr. Pickus provides individual psychotherapy for adults who are 18 or
older, and he has experience with a variety of psychological difficulties that
includes, but is not limited to, schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, PTSD, depression,
anxiety, OCD, substance use, relational problems, and life stressors.
Dr. Pickus takes an integrative approach to treating his patients, as he believes that
each person makes different techniques useful. He primarily blends Cognitive
Behavioral and Psychodynamic therapies. Through this process, his patients
cultivate a better understanding of themselves and learn tools they can continue to
use once therapy ends.
Dr. Pickus completed an APA accredited residency at the Phoenix VA and an APA
accredited predoctoral internship at the El Paso VA. He received a Master of
Social Work from the University of Southern California, a Master of Arts in
Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, as well as certificates in
Cognitive Processing Therapy and in the Psychodynamic Systems of
Psychotherapy. His dissertation, Time-Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy and
Psychopharmacology: An Integration, provided him the opportunity to increase his
understanding of both psychodynamic therapies and psychiatric medications.
