Neil Schwartz, Psy.D

Post Doctoral Resident

Dr. Neil Schwartz is a post-doctoral resident who earned his Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, an American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited program. Prior to his graduate training, he earned a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Psychology, graduating cum laude from Syracuse University.

Dr. Schwartz specializes in treating adults with trauma, mood, and anxiety disorders, particularly those stemming from complex trauma. He completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the West Palm Beach VA, where he gained extensive experience delivering evidence-based therapies to veterans with complex psychiatric presentations. Dr. Schwartz utilizes approaches such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for structured, time-limited results, as well as insight-oriented therapies like Psychodynamic Psychotherapy for those seeking deeper exploration.

During his graduate training, Dr. Schwartz researched trauma-informed care for LGBTQIA+ individuals. His directed study examined effective interventions to reduce trauma-related symptoms and HIV-risk behaviors in sexual minority men with histories of prolonged childhood abuse. This expertise enables him to provide affirming, personalized care.

Dr. Schwartz is committed to fostering a safe, welcoming space where patients feel supported as they share their stories, address emotional distress, rebuild trust, and heal the effects of trauma.
